Avhath - "Eulogy" EP Exclusive Premiere + Upcoming Tour Dates
Filth from the Night
Fright and Extremity
Sounds from the night, Avhath retains their throne of the dark with this upcoming "Eulogy EP". This is a follow up from their past release EP "Une Generation Perdue" 2 years ago on cassette format. They have just released a single recently in 2014, Christmas themed song "Frightened Teeth". Joyful and Merry. But now, We're not to talk about that. "Eulogy EP" will be released in 7" Format on 18 April Record Store Day 2015 in Indonesia. Features 2 New tracks and 1 Bonus track from their very first single "Catch 22". They also will be kicking off their Java tour with Disfare, yes promoting their upcoming split album together on the road. Tour Dates are down below.
AVHATH - EULOGY 7" PREVIEW
"Eulogy EP" was devastating sonic boom with an epic proportion, Avhath has surely sharpened their blade and pike, they step their game up another level, go deeper and deeper. They point themselves into a higher aim, delirous and amped with power. They didn't let it out to waste. Songs like "Eulogy I" was a facebreaker they never retain that crust punk provokeness. Even though it seems they may a bit shift their way out to another type of control. "Eulogy II" is a pounding downfall. You know something about Black Metal, it's not always about complete destruction. Sometimes it's a deep growth potential of things, rather than just blasting around and destroying anything. There's an Energy in it.

Mastodon: Sit Back, Relax, We're going to the Sun, Again.
Mastodon: A Blast of With "Once More 'Round The Sun"
Marvelous, Just Marvelous.
a creature, beast. Bigger than the Mammoth in the Ice Age. It's been a while since we're expecting more than these guys, but let me tell you, this album will surely knocks you off your seats. The Artwork is
done by Skinner
, I've s
een his other works, and I gotta hand it to the guy, It looks hellish as hell. and I liked it. Produce my the one and Only Nick Raskulinecz
. In this new album the boys will redeem themselves. After "The Hunter"
the boys seems to be trying to make a comeback, and oh boy, what a comeback. I don't mean I hate "The Hunter"
tho', there are some tracks t
hat I really liked from that Album, and by far as I see it, Some of "The Hunter"
elements are presence in this new album. Sure, yeah each Mastodon albums exists in a different place and Elements, but the main thing is, The guys capable of bringing back a bigger and more powerful works after that. There's a lot of rock going on in this album, so buckle up those seatbelts, it'gonna be a bumpy ride.
The album starts off with "Tread Lightly"
a resonance strumming with an acoustic guitar, one of my favorite track also. Troy bass lines in this track is absolutely knocks down hard, A Steel knock off first base this track is. "Open your eyes, Take a Deep breath and return to Life"
a glimpse of the lyrics. It seems a Resurrection was at hand, simply trying put off how they manage to make it all whole again. Brent starts shredding everything suddenly pops. "The Motherload"
is a edgy confident beat, Brann vocals emerges from the depths, sweet and monstrously perfect, 'This time, This time, things work out just fine'
and my oh my, It surpass the word fine. Entering another dimension, a portal to another time and place, and got trapped in it. Progressive Rock elements were present, and being fused by the existing Psychedelic atmosphere. "High Road"
it's one of their single, A Blunt battering ram, full of Sludge Hardened steel Riffs that capable taking down the all of the Madison Square. "Remission"
particle was veery dominant in this track, It's a severe hit, a Rigorous triumphant. "Chimes of Midnight"
a compelling lucid dreaming psychedelia trip into the solar system, Percussions everywhere, full of riffs that swarms right and tight, "All my heroes, they're all dead"
one of Troy lines that I've heard in this track gives me the chills. A formidable stiff Melody. "Asleep In The Deep"
yeah, I know, I get the chills too, It kinda reminds us of some Kvelertak'ish notes, Valient Himself
and a Keyboardist Isaiah Owens
who mainly known for his works with The Mars Volta
, Jack White
, etc. Take parts in this track. "Feast Your Eyes"
a blummering beatdown of riffs and throat roarinng. Might and Melody walking in the same line holding hands mugging people in the streets basicly this track about. Jumping off cliffs and burning down bridges. "Aunt Lisa"
, the gangs from the The Coathangers and Gary Lindsey participate in this track. This song is like a Psychedelic Nightmare interpretation. Creepy.
this is my favorite track mostly from this album, filled with many Percussions that L
eave you jaw dropping, Guitar shredding that makes you going too different Places, and Heavy choruses that looks like hitler is Preaching on stage. It's a snazzy prog rock attack, Sweet and hard at the same time. Lurking down beneath your spine. You don't like metal? but you'll just love Mastodon. "Halloween"
, Fast weilding blade runner on the loose trying to beat all the kids in halloween, It's kinda a crime chase session we got here. Striking you on your knee, a Wallop full of Punches, Beatdowns, Riffs that Stronger than Meth, It's Bizzare freakish beat I tell you that. "Diamond In The Witch House"
a Sinister song that filled with hatred surge and blasting sonic guitar shredding, 'Neurosis'
very own Scott Kelly took part in this track, a Spine-chilling blow and thrust into our ears and hearts. Once again they outdone themselves, couldn't be more happier. They took their listeners into another Dimension,
into another Solar System, and There are Creepy stuffs crawling and lurking in space, they aren't afraid to show it.
In this album, they filled it with a brim of a new aspects, It's a menacing destructive desolate anthems from these Atlanta Giants, Mercurial Prog rock, they branches off into a new Element. They've outdone themselves. Am Uplifting lean hard rock beatdown. I'm giving it (4.5/5.0)
RUSSIAN CIRCLES: "MEMORIAL" CONTEMPLATING ATMOSPHERIC INTENSITY
Russian Circles: "Memorial" Contemplating Atmospheric Intensity.
- Post-Metal Heavyweights Perseverance
Fifth Studio Album from American Post-Metal
Heavyweights "Russian Circles"
released on 29th October 2013 via Sargent House
. Still produced by Brandon Curtis(The Secret Machines, Interpol)
the guy who's behind two Russian Circles
previous album "Empross"(2011)
. Russian Circles is maybe now is the Crown jewel of Post-Metal, apart from many other alike we used to know such as Cult Of Luna, some might say The Ocean, Intronaut, and Others will definetly still rooting for Isis. Don't get me wrong, I love Isis dude. Looks like my First Love all I can say. Russian Circles - Memorial develop a signature of Polarized patterns in Music. Some we can see from their Recent news about this album. The guys collaborated with The majestic Beauty Ms. Chelsea Wolfe. Whom works I find very Intruiging indeed.
sounds like Russian Circles
, they have their own unique way of reproduce great Music through Crushing guitars sounds, twist and turns. They have those Element of being knowingly Beastly Guitars, Roaring basslines, Such as "Deficit"
starts off with a Pounding contraction on the Ear. Those shredding Groovy dark side arms, Moving elegantly through what the Russian Circles
we Know best. Some will find this Shocking for just hearing this the first time like saying, 'Dude For Real?!!' I myself fell in love with every bits and pieces, Fills up to my needs of Post-Metal supper. "1777"
is maybe one of my most favorite track, play it slow, then go off crashing through a wall, Breaking point goes so Loud is making my ear bleeds Water, yes, It's making my ear wet. The typical Russian Circles
signature moves. Full cresendo and goes menacing through a thick Brick. Powerful yet majestic. Love Mike Sullivan
drum sounds, the sound really goes down to my inner thoughts, Geneva
in their prime moments, And Brian Cook
Pallbearing Bass Tracks in Empross loud breaking my Intesity boundaries, Very bad ass. Dave Turncrantz shredding Pale Axe weilder is more than we come to Imagine, Fucking Brilliant Indeed!. "Lebaron"
sounds like a menacing Polar bear really, comes to my mind as an Imagination a polar bear eating fresh penguin flesh, Crushing deliberately Anxiety energy. Full of Energy "Burial"
is Molded with. Crippling your inner thoughts with those Bad Ass Bass lines dude, I mean. How awesome is that. "Ethel"
ah, reminds me Of Malko, Mladek and Micah
indeed, Those Empross
days, Electronic tingling on the side of your ear. Loudness more Subdued in this part actually, but the Song? There more than Excellent I can say. "Memorial" Their collaboration with one of the artist from Sargent House, Yes, Ms. Chelsea Wolfe, Still Perfect. Russian Circles may be a Instrumental stuff from the start but they do good too When Vocals included. This album is amazingly Beautiful, I'm giving (4.5/5)
ECHOLIGHT - Bandung Heavy Instrumentalist Tune In With "GIANNI PORTO"
ECHOLIGHT - "GIANNI PORTO" : Harsh Temptation Between Post-Rock and Shoegaze
Tempting, Intruiging In Various ways.
Hailing from Bandung, These four men composed seems to be a Blend in of mixture of Harsh sides of Shoegaze, Post-Rock, Post-Punk, and Rock.
And Entitled this "Gianni Porto"
a Character that wrapped Eleven Tracks full of Benchmarking of some Post-Rock & Shoegaze submission, Kicking, References from Explosions In The Sky, God Is An Astronaut
, and many more.
-Fendy Gustya Suwardana
Now to the tracks, Here we go. "Black Stolen Boxes"
is an Instrumental beating Pounding machine, Destructive and yet Elegant, Many sides of becoming A Post-Metal thing but it isn't. "Traffic Thriller"
Was excellent, noises of compelling Intonation, "The Lethal Impression"
is Mostly alike to be my favorite track from the album apart from Black Stolen Boxes, they've got those vibe that Making it a bit more "Powerfull" both endings and Intro. If you ask me naturally hell yes this is a good album, Impressive I Might say, Hearing this from Indonesia, "You Look Awkward"
Seems a bit Post-Metal'ish Isis
References, no matter. It sounds brilliant anyway, not that I'm sure of, This album Is a great way to spend in a New years Eve, same Like goes "Arcade". "Glare of Glowing City"
are their first release and containing two of this tracks, No matter, sounds bad ass in an Elegant way. A Short thing to say, this album is fully equipped with your favorite Post-Rock Artist Genes, One of the best Releases in 2013, All I Can say I'm Giving This Album (4.5/5)
Listen to Black Stolen Boxes
Red Fang: "An Nightmare Opera, Specializes In Halloween With Whales & Leeches"
"WHALES & LEECHES" by Red Fang
It's been a while since their latest "Murder The Mountains"
Red Fang, In my opinion, Was the Most Heavy Rifftastic, Beer-Laden, And Booze Entertaining in both Ends, Coming out from the Heart of Relapse Recordings, The Record it's a frantic Panic Songwriting. But either way, Here's what the dude at Red Fang says on Spin Magazine
2. Blood Like Cream
3. No Hope
4. Crows In Swine
5. Voices Of The Dead
6. Behind The Light
7. Dawn Rising
10. This Animal
11. Every Little Twist
The result of this frenzy is a record that's heavier than their usual brutal boogie: hyper-charged bulldozer riffs, lyrics about a doomed winter and death tolls, and bellowed vocals that recall burly forefathers like Mastodon and Baroness
I in the other Hand, of course Find this thing is Newly To my Ears, And Excitement was in the Air My Friend! For Whales & Leeches
, the band worked producer Chris Funk (Decemberists)
and mixer Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon)
. This same team worked on Red Fang’s
last album Murder the Mountains
. In this Album Red Fang get it Crackin' With the help of guests Mike Scheidt (Yob)
and Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession)
. Okay!, Now let's get Cracking with the Album , The Track start's Off with "DOEN"
which stands of Dead Of Endless Nights
, Pretty heavy shit track to start off with, reminded me of Matt Pike's
Finest Heavy rock Crew "High On Fire"
but of course still with Red Fang
Flavoured Dna. "Blood Like Cream"
it's kinda creepy rock n roll For those Halloween enthusiats out there, This is my favorite track actually, you can hear the track
Were kinda one of those days when you just wanna quit from everyday schedule, It's mainly about Losing Hope, and you were kinda like this street driver crashing to every shit in your life. Pretty Chaotic and Awesome Of Course dude, I Mean c'mon? The guys still have their Flavoured touch to the Music. It's New, And I'm Liking it! "Crows In Swine"
Dooming it on with somekinda Ghost-ish Intro from the front, it's like A Food thing actually, like a Pig that could look like a Crow, These guys still playing with food names I Guess. "Voices Of The Dead
" & "Behind The Light
" like a Combination Life after death, The Dead shout out their voices, behind the light. Like meaning they didn't go to heaven actually, Poor bastard, but Nevertheless It's Cool, Like a Beatdown Stoner Badminton on your Head. Really knocks you off your socks. "Dawn Rising"
kinda long Doom, Stoner Anthemic to World Revolution, Slow, Pounding, and Kick ass, kinda get a feel walking down the street feels like a guy with a lot History of Bad ass Reputation. Next Track "Failure
" like a Slow moisture horror film. Pretty neat actually, Reminding me somehow of Mastodon
Now this is very Mastodon
Influenced indeed, reminded me of Brent and Bill Guitar lines on Blood And Thunder
. Fucking Cool! Grill, Chilling down your Spine down Under, and So does beneath. "This Animal
" Reminding me of The Raw Side of Coliseum
combining with Red Fang
Dna and A bit of Queen Of The Stone Ag
e I think. The last Track "Every Little Twist
" like a rock hymn to problems in life I think. Pall Jenkins
from Black Heart Procession and Three Mile Pilo
t also sings on this song. Mainly I Think Red Fang - Whales And Leeche
s is a Bad Ass tune to start your Halloween day, Creepy, Cool, New, And Awesome. I'm Giving 4/5
WARMOUTH X CLOUDBURST: Nausea.. Sickens In..(Split Album, 2014)
WARMOUTH X CLOUDBURST: Nausea, Sickness and Death...
Both from the same neigborhood, Yogyakarta
. having the same taste of growing up in a hardcore punk scene. This split album contains screaming bloody gore, "Warmouth"
is a three-piece vicious, dark, chaotic, hardcore punk reinventing Nails, Entombed
, and things your parents maybe don't know. "Cloudburst"
a four man metallic grind hardcore punk, that shove a hot steel up your ass, Combines a shard of Pantera
on course. Released by Unleash Records
. This split album consists in 5 tracks. Both bands are a growing pack of wolves, both of them have just released a demo that you can stream on their bandcamp.
The tracks starts off with Warmouth 'Changing Lanes'
it's a 42 second rushing d-beat power, end's with a noise of bang that continues to "Collapsing Lungs"
the breathing shifting tune of the guitar, the vocals of Snarl, growl, scream, and death metal riveting through your inner ear organs. Cathartic and darkly excruciating that's "No Salvation"
. They glimpse out the dark anthemic brace up mode, Very enjoyable.
steps in 'Warming Cabinet'
it's this metallic sludge riff, a background of drums hitting and a changing of theme is a need. This is a well plotted complex sensible punk rock sound. Violent and rude. 'Fragments'
a burst and a spark of d-beat pushing rough through the walls, you can hear that drum filling exchange when the riff shreds in, Sadness and Frustration echoes in around the vocals. Warmly entertaining.
This album is wildly suprising and nice, if you are a fan of hardcore punk, d-beat. I recommend you buy this album and listen to it while on a traffic jam, it'll warm up and start you day nicely. You can get the split album right here:
Here's some sample tracks for you to listen, go to their bandcamp to hear more:
