WARMOUTH X CLOUDBURST: Nausea.. Sickens In..(Split Album, 2014)
WARMOUTH X CLOUDBURST: Nausea, Sickness and Death...
Both from the same neigborhood, Yogyakarta. having the same taste of growing up in a hardcore punk scene. This split album contains screaming bloody gore, "Warmouth" is a three-piece vicious, dark, chaotic, hardcore punk reinventing Nails, Entombed, and things your parents maybe don't know. "Cloudburst" a four man metallic grind hardcore punk, that shove a hot steel up your ass, Combines a shard of Pantera and Alpinist on course. Released by Unleash Records. This split album consists in 5 tracks. Both bands are a growing pack of wolves, both of them have just released a demo that you can stream on their bandcamp.
The tracks starts off with Warmouth'Changing Lanes' it's a 42 second rushing d-beat power, end's with a noise of bang that continues to "Collapsing Lungs" the breathing shifting tune of the guitar, the vocals of Snarl, growl, scream, and death metal riveting through your inner ear organs. Cathartic and darkly excruciating that's "No Salvation". They glimpse out the dark anthemic brace up mode, Very enjoyable.
Cloudburst' steps in 'Warming Cabinet' it's this metallic sludge riff, a background of drums hitting and a changing of theme is a need. This is a well plotted complex sensible punk rock sound. Violent and rude. 'Fragments' a burst and a spark of d-beat pushing rough through the walls, you can hear that drum filling exchange when the riff shreds in, Sadness and Frustration echoes in around the vocals. Warmly entertaining.
This album is wildly suprising and nice, if you are a fan of hardcore punk, d-beat. I recommend you buy this album and listen to it while on a traffic jam, it'll warm up and start you day nicely. You can get the split album right here: www.unlshrecs.com
Here's some sample tracks for you to listen, go to their bandcamp to hear more:
I'm giving this album,
Mastodon: Sit Back, Relax, We're going to the Sun, Again.
Mastodon: A Blast of With "Once More 'Round The Sun"
Marvelous, Just Marvelous.
Mastodon, a creature, beast. Bigger than the Mammoth in the Ice Age. It's been a while since we're expecting more than these guys, but let me tell you, this album will surely knocks you off your seats. The Artwork is done by Skinner, I've seen his other works, and I gotta hand it to the guy, It looks hellish as hell. and I liked it. Produce my the one and Only Nick Raskulinecz. In this new album the boys will redeem themselves. After "The Hunter" the boys seems to be trying to make a comeback, and oh boy, what a comeback. I don't mean I hate "The Hunter" tho', there are some tracks that I really liked from that Album, and by far as I see it, Some of "The Hunter" elements are presence in this new album. Sure, yeah each Mastodon albums exists in a different place and Elements, but the main thing is, The guys capable of bringing back a bigger and more powerful works after that. There's a lot of rock going on in this album, so buckle up those seatbelts, it'gonna be a bumpy ride.
The album starts off with "Tread Lightly" a resonance strumming with an acoustic guitar, one of my favorite track also. Troy bass lines in this track is absolutely knocks down hard, A Steel knock off first base this track is. "Open your eyes, Take a Deep breath and return to Life" a glimpse of the lyrics. It seems a Resurrection was at hand, simply trying put off how they manage to make it all whole again. Brent starts shredding everything suddenly pops. "The Motherload" is a edgy confident beat, Brann vocals emerges from the depths, sweet and monstrously perfect, 'This time, This time, things work out just fine' and my oh my, It surpass the word fine. Entering another dimension, a portal to another time and place, and got trapped in it. Progressive Rock elements were present, and being fused by the existing Psychedelic atmosphere. "High Road" it's one of their single, A Blunt battering ram, full of Sludge Hardened steel Riffs that capable taking down the all of the Madison Square. "Remission" particle was veery dominant in this track, It's a severe hit, a Rigorous triumphant. "Chimes of Midnight" a compelling lucid dreaming psychedelia trip into the solar system, Percussions everywhere, full of riffs that swarms right and tight, "All my heroes, they're all dead" one of Troy lines that I've heard in this track gives me the chills. A formidable stiff Melody. "Asleep In The Deep" yeah, I know, I get the chills too, It kinda reminds us of some Kvelertak'ish notes, Valient Himself and a Keyboardist Isaiah Owens who mainly known for his works withThe Mars Volta, Jack White, etc. Take parts in this track. "Feast Your Eyes" a blummering beatdown of riffs and throat roarinng. Might and Melody walking in the same line holding hands mugging people in the streets basicly this track about. Jumping off cliffs and burning down bridges. "Aunt Lisa", the gangs from the The Coathangers and Gary Lindsey participate in this track. This song is like a Psychedelic Nightmare interpretation. Creepy.
"Ember City" this is my favorite track mostly from this album, filled with many Percussions that Leave you jaw dropping, Guitar shredding that makes you going too different Places, and Heavy choruses that looks like hitler is Preaching on stage. It's a snazzy prog rock attack, Sweet and hard at the same time. Lurking down beneath your spine. You don't like metal? but you'll just love Mastodon. "Halloween", Fast weilding blade runner on the loose trying to beat all the kids in halloween, It's kinda a crime chase session we got here. Striking you on your knee, a Wallop full of Punches, Beatdowns, Riffs that Stronger than Meth, It's Bizzare freakish beat I tell you that. "Diamond In The Witch House" a Sinister song that filled with hatred surge and blasting sonic guitar shredding, 'Neurosis' very own Scott Kelly took part in this track, a Spine-chilling blow and thrust into our ears and hearts. Once again they outdone themselves, couldn't be more happier. They took their listeners into another Dimension, into another Solar System, and There are Creepy stuffs crawling and lurking in space, they aren't afraid to show it.
In this album, they filled it with a brim of a new aspects, It's a menacing destructive desolate anthems from these Atlanta Giants, Mercurial Prog rock, they branches off into a new Element. They've outdone themselves. Am Uplifting lean hard rock beatdown. I'm giving it (4.5/5.0)
Seringai: "Heavy Slaying Riffs and A Boaring Sound of a Madman" With "Taring"(Fangs)
Seringai: Heavy Metal, Alcohol and By God Holy Name, There's a Lot of Riffs.
Earwax, Earwax Everywhere.
I know, Looks like outdated, This album was released in 2012, so Basicly it was two years ago. but what the hell. I've been knowing these guys since I was in Junior High School. "Serigala Militia" the first Album that I've heard when these guys come Along. 2007 If I'm not mistaken, Bringing Heavy Metal to the masses. And yes, They make a huge impact. One of Indonesia finest Heavy Metal brethern. They already have 3 Albums. The first one is 'High Octane Rock', second 'Serigala Militia', third 'Taring'(Fangs), and Were here to talk about the New album 'Taring' which in English means "Fangs". Seringai is known for their combination between Heavy Metal, Alcohol and a fuck lot of Riffs, Their artwork is basicly include Skulls and Fangs reminding you of Pushead back in the days. A Quartet Heavy Metal Brigade from Jakarta. Combining Stoner Rock hardened riffage and Loud as fuck, Motorhead style. Lemmy would be proud. Arian on Vocals, Ricky on Guitar, Sammy on Bass and Khemod on Drums. Now the Album
The track starts of with 'Canis Dirus' a glimmering resonation of an acoustic guitar. Western stuff, John Wayne on the background. and the Strumming began to blending in. Seeing horizons in the west, basicly this Intro is. And when the guitar solo Kicks in. Everything Changed. "Dilarang Di Bandung" was on set, Pedals, Bass, Riffs, and Boom!. Let me visualize the song. It's like riding a Goddamn Chopper and Shooting bad guys left and Right. A Purely breed of Sonic Heavy Metal right in the Nuts. Earwax guys, Play it on High volume to feel the vibe. The third one is a bit more merrier, a combination of Orange Goblin and Kvelertak, but still having those Riff laden flare. Now the next one is favorite one. "Fett, Sang Pemburu" or you can say "Fett, The Hunter" A tale for the Galaxies Most Bad Ass Bounty Hunter. 'Boba Fett', yes, you heard me said it. A Tribute to the Hunter. It's like a Soundtrack for War this album is. Jesus Christ, there's a lot of riffs dude. I mean a lot.
"Tragedi" and "Infiltrasi" are basicly the Prom Queen in this album, Indulging Headbanging to the masses. Caution this album may cause blowing your earhole. The more higher volume you put does make a Difference. "Gaza" a Instrumental track which filled with Beers and Heavy Rock. You can hear the the pounding, and the Grief. Actually in my Opinion believe this song is About the conflict in Gaza, Palestine. It's been going on for a while tho', but I don't know, it's just my opinion actually. In the middle of the song you can hear when the Acoustic guitar comes in, somehow reminding me of Baroness. Oh such sweet joy this album is. There's a correllation between the sweet part and the heavy part.
There are so many reasons, Why I think this one of Indonesia most Influential band. If you haven't get their album be sure to get it. You live regretting your life. Cheers. I'm giving it (4.0/5.0)
Hear ye, hear ye. For you Sabbath fans. I know this album has been released months ago, I've been trying to review this album for so long, and hear goes. "Matiasu" a word which describe Death and living creatures, these Duo Stoner/Doom Metal Aficionados have been in my radar for months, I've been hearing their live peformances and Listening to their tunes, in Matter of fact, REVOIRREVOLVE has done an Interview with band Itself, in Circa 2012 of course, We've been reposting the old Interviews from the old site to the new ones HERE
"DOOM DANCE" That's their title for their EP album, Matiasu consist Duo Stoner/Doom Metal members, Their References goes to Serpentine Path, Moss, Electric Wizard, Sleep and Of course the Holy Legendary Godfather of Heavy Metal Black Sabbath himself. Released via An Sonic Boom Record label Coventry from the Darkness glimpse of an a Could see A.K.A Sonicfuneral Recordings who works with Dark parts of life such as Wicked Suffer, And Asangata. Now let's get Crackin. Here's the Tracklist:
Cult of Serpent
The track starts with After Dark a riveting racket of heavyness burned deep beneath, Anthemic darkness Riff ladenistic Steel up into your knee, After a couple seconds Blast into a fucking furnace of Destruction, I Love the Riff, Prentitious slamming right into your earholes like a fucking machine gun. It's loud, It's Heavy, and it's Locally our Matiasu, The same Goes for Cult Of Serpent a Snake biting riff edging in both ends, still Dangerous though, not to be fucked with, Reminded me of Matt Pike's Guitar lines, Mainly Matiasu trying to Reimage a Dark Self Seeing Music, Deals with darkness, doom and weed I believe, Doom Dance is an Electric Wizardry, It's slow, Pummeling your head, knee and everything in between, reminded me Of Om somehow. Hallucination is a weed travelling flower man, crippling slowing down time itself, this sounds like Sleep to me, Indeed it is! I'm giving this album 3.5/5
"Post - Instrumental Boys Are Pounding Their Way Out"
Oh yes, After succesfully With their "Ataraxia/Taraxis EP" The boys are back, Producing some more musical Influences to their New Album "Forever Becoming". Some metalcore you might hear on the song, some low, slow, beat are in the gene of these Post-Metal Instrumental Band Hailing from Illinois. After recently announced an amicable split with guitarist and founding member Laurent Schroeder-Lebec. Schroeder-Lebec had not been touring with the band for the prior two years, with Dallas Thomas of The Swan King performing live in his stead, but not participating in the writing process. The album will be released on October 15, 2013 through Mr. Greg Anderson "Southern Lord Records". Forever Becoming was produced by Chris Common, formerly of "These Arms Are Snakes", who also previously produced Pelican's 2009 studio album, What We All Come To Need
Pelican Outfit in this Album is more Balanced, Between the soft parts and the hard parts, somehow this is not like How the old Pelican used to be, their exploring new territories in the music, In the Track "Deny The Absolute" It's not like how the old pelican used to be, Somehow they balanced their way out. Surely if you compare it to Other Tracks in other Pelican album you'll know the difference, They're just not slow, instrumental beat, Like many other bands, The guys really made this into An Intelligent Music. Somehow I'm really quite fond with this new Album, they really make it look promising. I mean 8-tracks of Completely Awesome Instrumental Music Pounding in your ear you could resonate the music itself. Like Pelican becoming more Complex, And More Metal than ever, Listen to "Immutable Dusk" There's a part when the music really gets goosebumps on your skin, It's just really great to be hearing this band again. My most favorite is "Threnody" you really gets the sense of feeling being haunted by somekind of dark-past memories and then Came out the Pelican sign in tone.
They just don't go for pure power on guitar and drums, they feel the heartbeat of the music too, the way how it's used to be, They absorbs the atmosphere within the music itself, like somehow their soul was attached to the Pelican itself which is, very very Staggering indeed. Completely blown my mind off Forever Becoming, What an Amazing album Indeed. 4.3/5
Avhath - "Eulogy" EP Exclusive Premiere + Upcoming Tour Dates
Filth from the Night
Fright and Extremity
Sounds from the night, Avhath retains their throne of the dark with this upcoming "Eulogy EP". This is a follow up from their past release EP "Une Generation Perdue" 2 years ago on cassette format. They have just released a single recently in 2014, Christmas themed song "Frightened Teeth". Joyful and Merry. But now, We're not to talk about that. They also will be kicking off their Java tour with Disfare, yes promoting their upcoming split album together on the road. Tour Dates are down below.
AVHATH - EULOGY 7" PREVIEW
"Eulogy EP" was devastating sonic boom with an epic proportion, Avhath has surely sharpened their blade and pike, they step their game up another level, go deeper and deeper. They point themselves into a higher aim, delirous and amped with power. They didn't let it out to waste. Songs like "Eulogy I" was a facebreaker they never retain that crust punk provokeness. Even though it seems they may a bit shift their way out to another type of control. "Eulogy II" is a pounding downfall. You know something about Black Metal, it's not always about complete destruction. Sometimes it's a deep growth potential of things, rather than just blasting around and destroying anything. There's an Energy in it.
